Christmas Cheer

How was everyone’s Christmas?  Ours was great!  Low key & relaxing.  So much so, that it’s been a rough couple of days getting back into blogging mode.  But I’ve made it back. =)

We spent Noche Buena with my in-laws.  A menu of turkey, arroz con gandules, ham, pernil, sweet potato and salad was the perfect way to start the celebration. With full bellies and the anticipation of Christmas Day, we called it an early night to get the Pollitos ready for Santa’s arrival.

The Pollitos were very blessed this year. Santa was so good to them, dropping off goodies for them at several houses.  They have more toys now that we know what to do with. We have our work cut out for us, in figuring out where to put everything.  I sense more purging and organizing coming up.  In the meantime, here’s a little recap.

Amazing, how you can go from this…

and this…

to the madness of wrapping paper scraps, to the excitement and happiness of little faces…

along with the determination in how to unwrap their goodies.

It does happen so quickly, but the light in their eyes and pure joy & happiness makes all the running around & staying up late totally worth it.  I hope they don’t catch on that we are Santa, for many years to come.

I love the teamwork in this picture.  Oh, and I can’t wait to share with you in another post , all about what’s under all that wrapping paper.  So make sure to come back.

Lastly, here they are ready to unwrap Round 2 of gifts, left by Santa at Mom & Papa’s house.  There in the background is just some of what they already received.

And there you have it, Christmas 2011 in the Serrano Household.  Family.  Good Food.  Happy Kids.  A great combination.  What more could you ask for?

Well it’s time to get saving for next Christmas and goal setting for 2012.
